Interested in Joining?
If you are interested, come give us a try!
We have all ages - from 4 years to adult.
We have all abilities - from just learning to elite, college level.
We have people from Bluewater Bay to Navarre, civilians and military affiliated.
We have two levels of commitment - non-competitive (technique and training) or competitive (technique, training, and meets).
There is most likely a place for you on our team!
The current season's practice times are listed under "This Season" in the right hand column. Just show up at the start of the one of the sessions and a coach will watch you swim a test length.
A test length is just one length of the pool freestyle (front crawl). If you know how to do any other stroke, such as backstroke (back crawl), then the coach will want to see that too.
After you swim the length, the coach will direct you from there.
We would love to have you join us!
Check out our mission statement, accomplishments, pictures, news articles, highlights, information, and more. We are convinced the more you learn about us, the more you will want to be a part of this family.
Generally, if you are a Red Cross level 4 or 5, you are probably ready for our team.
Most of the members are affiliated with the military. As a result, they are used to people moving in and out and are very welcoming.
We are a registered team with United States Swimming (USS) governing body. All our meets are USS sanctioned. We usually have about two meets a month. Our championship meets are the Southeastern District South Championships, Southeastern Championships, and Senior Nationals. These meets are at the end of each season, in March and July. For our current meet schedule and information, please click on the meet schedule link under "This Season" in the right hand column.
General notes:
1. Maverick Aquatic team colors are purple, black, and gold.
2. We are low-key. We are here for the experience of swimming competition. We like to keep things simple and straightforward; we do not want to complicate things. For example, at meets we do not want to require everyone stay at the same hotel or everyone go out to eat together. We do not regularly schedule social events or banquets. We do require that the kids sit together at meets and usually we bring our own chairs depending on the facility. The parents may sit together as a cheering section if they wish.
3. Fees are paid when they are due. There are no escrow accounts. Preferably within the first week of a month, pool and team fees are due. For meets, each swimmer pays for what he or she swims and for coaching. Meet fees are paid at the meet.
4. Anyone transferring from another team is welcome. However, until a time lapse of 120 days from the time you last competed for the previous team, you must compete unattached. If you transfer from another team PLEASE talk to your old team coaches FIRST and let them know the reasons for transferring.
It takes a Maverick to set the standard.
