We have three groups based on ability level and practice emphasis.
Group 1 is primarily for adults who have competitive experience and triathletes who would like a short, conditioning and technique-based workout and would like to practice with other adults. Competitive opportunities are available through Maverick Aquatics.
Group 2 is primarily for current competitive swimmers who have mastered basic techniques and are working for refinement of their technique and endurance. The workouts will include technique sets, long endurance sets, speed-based sets, dryland conditioning, and stretching. This group will have an emphasis on competition. These swimmers will be expected to compete in scheduled meets with Maverick Aquatics.
Group 3 is primarily for teaching the techniques of competitive swimming and conditioning. Any swimmer who has completed Red Cross level 4 or can swim 50 yards freestyle with good breathing and 50 yards backstroke is welcome to join. Inexperienced, competitive swimmers and younger, competitive swimmers should be in this group as well as beginning adults. These swimmers have the option to compete through Maverick Aquatics.
If you are interested in joining and are not sure which group to join, show up at any practice to swim and the coaches will advise.
